About us

Healing and creating hope.

Our Journey

From direct grassroots action in Athi River to systemic advocacy across Kenya.

Founding Period

Doors of Hope Kenya began as a community-focused initiative addressing severe exclusion, social stigma, and support gaps affecting children with disabilities and vulnerable families.

The early work focused intensely on families affected by cerebral palsy and developmental conditions, setting up safe spaces in Athi River where children could safely access therapy, education support, nutrition, and basic care.

Early Advocacy

The organization quickly strengthened its public footprint, driving localized cerebral palsy awareness walks, caregiver support circles, and intense public education sessions.

These early campaigns challenged deeply rooted community myths and misinformation, helping families bring hidden children safely out into public environments.

Program Expansion

Recognizing interconnected barriers, Doors of Hope Kenya systematically expanded its reach into multi-sector programs.

Health & Protection

Sexual & Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) and GBV prevention.

Inclusion & Skills

Menstrual health management, professional counseling, and capacity-building.

Today

The organization continues to empower persons with disabilities, girls, women, youth, and vulnerable families through scalable programs, strategic local partnerships, and nationwide legal rights advocacy.
