Shaping a better Future for Communities in Need

Doors of Hope Kenya aims to improve the quality of life for people with disabilities in Athi River and other regions by creating impact in needy communities. It is a consortium of leaders, therapists and their networks who are passionate about solving critical problems and shaping a better future for communities.

Our main priority is to provide assistance and make a positive difference in the lives of communities in Kenya.

We are a Non profit organisation, a member of the NCPWD and a NationalDisabled Persons Organisation (DPO) working at all levels of community with the involvement of persons with disabilities to bring about positive change. We were founded by and for girls, women, children and youth with disabilities in Kenya. Doors of Hope is dedicated to achieve equality, inclusion, and empowerment of children, women, girls' and youth with disabilities through main streaming them into all aspects of daily life. Doors of Hope provides an inspiring environment for people with different types of disabilities and people without disabilities to work together.

Our Goals

Establish Two Rescue Centers in Each of the 47 Counties for Sexual / Gender Based Violence, Case Reporting and Management.
Develop Gender Equality and Sexual Reproductive Health Policies for All 47 Counties in Kenya.
Ensure That 80% of Girls and Persons with Disabilities Access Information and Services for Informed Decision-Making on Sexual and Reproductive Health matters.

The Health Program focuses on promoting the well-being of persons with disabilities by enhancing access to healthcare services. Doors of Hope Kenya conducts awareness-raising campaigns to shed light on the sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR) issues faced by people with disabilities. The program provides training and resources to healthcare providers to ensure inclusive and accessible SRHR services for this vulnerable population. The organization also offers direct services like counseling, referral, and advocacy support to help individuals with disabilities access healthcare services and navigate complex systems of care.

The Education Program is designed to improve educational opportunities and outcomes for children and youths with disabilities in Kenya. This program aims to raise awareness about the importance of inclusive education and advocate for the rights of students with disabilities to access quality education. Doors of Hope Kenya provides capacity-building workshops and training for educators, disability advocates, and other stakeholders to create inclusive learning environments. Additionally, the organization works to integrate learners with disabilities into mainstream schools.

The Livelihood Program aims to empower youths, women, and persons with disabilities to attain economic independence and financial self-sustainability. Doors of Hope Kenya conducts skill-building and capacity-building programs, such as training sessions on soap making and sewing. By equipping individuals with marketable skills, the organization helps them establish small businesses or gain employment opportunities, fostering economic growth and resilience within the community.
